About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: CVPICU Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum of 3 years in high-acuity hospital or strong Level II experience License: RN license required Certifications: AHA BLS and PALS required Must-Have: Strong Pediatric ICU experience and at least 1 year of CV experience required EPIC experience required Telemetry test must be passed before starting Description: Provide comprehensive care for critically ill or injured children and their families. Care for patients with a wide variety of medical and surgical problems, including acute head injuries, critical neurological disorders, pulmonary diseases, cardiac anomalies, organ transplantation, and multi-system organ failure. Participate in family-centered care in a multidisciplinary team environment. Experience with advanced pediatric conditions and procedures, including ECMO, CRRT, and hemodynamic monitoring, is essential. Management of ventilated patients and acute airway care is required. Familiarity with central line management, arterial line management, and telemonitoring is expected. Understand and administer anti-seizure and antiarrhythmic medications. Experience in pediatric dosage calculations and Pediatric Early Warning Score (PEWS) is important. Ensure compliance with infection control practices and PPE standards. Must float as needed between different care areas. Pediatric patients cared for range from neonates to adolescents. The unit supports interdisciplinary collaboration with various specialized teams. Knowledge of telemetry and the interpretation of arterial blood gases is essential. Care and management of cardiac, respiratory, and neurological cases are critical. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment is necessary. Will require frequent communication with families and team members regarding patient care.
