Assistant Project Manager

ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER – COMMERCIAL DOORS, FRAMES & HARDWARE Montgomery Door LLC Full-Time Montgomery Door LLC is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support commercial door, frame, and hardware projects from award through completion. This position works closely with project managers, customers, contractors, vendors, accounting, and warehouse personnel to keep projects organized and moving forward. Responsibilities Assist with managing commercial door, frame, and hardware projects Review plans, specifications, door schedules, hardware sets, and approved submittals Help verify quantities, dimensions, handing, fire ratings, finishes, and hardware requirements Track submittals, approvals, purchase orders, material releases, lead times, and deliveries Review vendor acknowledgments for accuracy Maintain project trackers, schedules, files, and correspondence Communicate with customers, contractors, vendors, and internal team members Follow up on outstanding approvals, pricing, shipping information, and project decisions Coordinate material staging and deliveries with the warehouse Assist with damaged, missing, incorrect, or delayed material Help identify changes in project scope and prepare supporting documentation for change orders Track billing milestones and provide documentation to accounting Assist with punch-list items, warranties, and project closeout Provide general administrative and organizational support to project managers Qualifications Experience in commercial construction, doors, frames, hardware, project coordination, or a related field is preferred Ability to read construction plans, specifications, and door schedules is preferred Familiarity with hollow metal doors and frames, wood doors, and commercial hardware is a plus Strong organization, communication, and follow-through Excellent attention to detail Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities Comfortable communicating with customers, contractors, and vendors Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel Experience with Bluebeam, Pro-Tech, QuickBooks, SharePoint, or similar systems is a plus Willingness to learn commercial door, frame, and hardware products and processes What We’re Looking For The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, eager to learn, and comfortable following up on open items. This person should take ownership of assigned tasks, communicate clearly, maintain accurate documentation, and help the project-management team keep projects on schedule.
