Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures; obtain, assemble, and arrange sterile instruments and supplies used for surgical procedures; perform scrub role; and maintain patient safety throughout perioperative care. Use effective communication skills to enhance teamwork and customer service; and be flexible and proactive to support an efficient and effective surgical environment. Inherent to success in this position is organization, desire to work in a team-oriented academic medical setting, capability to stay abreast of current developments relevant to the position, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and knowledge of the duties of a Surgical Technologist. Primary Job Responsibilities Take the lead in the patient care experience by prepping and maintaining our Operating Rooms for surgical procedures Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders and partners, from our scheduling team to surgeons Work in a dynamic, fast-paced, problem-solving environment while maintaining vigilance of instruments and supplies used during surgical procedures Perform scrub role while supporting patient safety a sterile environment Support of post-operative tasks, including removal of contaminated instruments, decontamination, sterilization and turnover of the Operating Room Required Position Qualifications Completion of a Surgical Technologist program AND one year of experience assisting clinical staff in a variety of operative procedures in an operating room environment OR equivalent education/experience.
