• Role: QA Lead Engineer
• Location: DMV area (DC, Maryland, Virginia) or remote, East coast based
• Hours: EST business hours required
• Pay Range: $60-$75/hr
• Length: 6-12 month initial contract with potential for extension
• Utilization: 40 hours per week
• Domain: Government, public sector

Intro to Role
This role leads quality assurance for Appianbased BPM applications supporting government operations. You will own test strategy, automation frameworks, and CI/CD integration while providing direction to a QA team. The focus is on preventing defects and ensuring stable, repeatable releases.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead QA strategy and test automation for Appian applications
• Design and maintain automated test scripts across multiple layers
• Integrate testing into DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
• Review SQL queries to validate data accuracy and behaviour
• Provide direction, mentoring, and oversight to QA team members
• Support release readiness and production validation

Requirements
Must have

• 12 plus years of relevant IT experience
• Strong DevOps and CI/CD integration experience
• Extensive handson test automation scripting
• 4 plus years testing Appian applications
• Strong SQL query writing skills
• Experience leading or overseeing QA teams

Nice to have

• Appian certification
• Experience testing applications in government or regulated environments
