Licensed Psychologist
The Mental Wellness Center
Licensed Psychologist (Testing + Therapy)
Build & Expand a Thriving Assessment Service Line Central Illinois/ Hybrid
About Our Practice
The Mental Wellness Center, Inc. is a well-established, growing group practice with a strong reputation for high-quality clinical care and a steady stream of referrals.
We already offer psychological testing and have a consistent demand that exceeds our current capacity. We're now hiring a psychologist to help expand and further develop this service line within a supportive, systems-driven environment.
Our practice is designed so clinicians can focus on clinical work, not administrative burden, aligning with best practices for scalable group models.
The Opportunity (This Is What Makes This Role Stand Out)
This is not a "start from scratch" testing role.
This is an opportunity to:
- Step into an existing, in-demand testing service
- Receive built-in referrals from day one
- Help shape and grow a profitable and scalable niche within the practice
- Maintain a balanced caseload (testing + optional therapy)
You'll have the infrastructure of a group practice with the autonomy of a specialist.
What You'll Do
Assessment (Primary Focus)
- Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations (e.g., ADHD, ASD, diagnostic clarification, learning concerns)
- Administer, score, and interpret standardized assessments
- Write clear, efficient, and clinically meaningful reports
- Provide feedback sessions to clients and families
Therapy (Optional but Encouraged for Balance)
- Maintain a therapy caseload (customizable based on your preference)
- Provide evidence-based treatment aligned with your expertise
Collaboration & Growth
- Collaborate with our referral network and internal clinicians
- Contribute to shaping and refining testing processes
- Option to develop a specialty niche (e.g., pediatric testing, adult ADHD, autism evaluations)
Who This Role Is Ideal For
This role is a strong fit if you:
- Want consistent testing referrals without having to market yourself
- Enjoy assessment work, but don't want it to be 100% of your schedule
- Are interested in growing or refining a specialty area
- Value autonomy and team collaboration
- Prefer focusing on clinical work while systems handle operations
Qualifications
- Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology
- Licensed (or license-eligible) psychologist in [State]
- Strong experience with psychological testing and report writing
- Competence with commonly used assessment tools (e.g., WAIS, WISC, ADOS, etc.)
- Experience with [children/adolescents/adults – customize]
- Strong diagnostic and conceptualization skills
Compensation & Structure (Make This Clear = Higher Conversion)
We offer a competitive and transparent compensation model designed to reward both testing and therapy work:
Example Structure (customize):
- Testing: $X–$X per completed evaluation (or % split)
- Therapy: $X per session (or % split)
- Bonus opportunities tied to volume or specialty services
Most of our testing psychologists reach full caseloads quickly due to strong referral demand.
What We Provide (This Is Your Competitive Advantage)
- Consistent, high-quality referrals for testing and therapy
- Full administrative support (scheduling, billing, insurance)
- Established systems and workflows (no guesswork)
- Assessment tools/materials provided or reimbursed
- Flexible scheduling and autonomy
- Collaborative, supportive team environment
- Opportunity to grow a niche without building a practice alone
Why Clinicians Choose Our Practice
Group practices are most successful when clinicians can focus on clinical excellence while leveraging shared infrastructure and referral systems.
In our practice, that means:
- No marketing yourself from scratch
- No managing billing headaches
- No isolation
Instead, you get:
- A team-based environment
- A steady income stream
- The ability to grow professionally without burnout
Growth Path (Optional but Powerful Section)
This role can evolve into:
- Lead testing psychologist
- Specialty program development (e.g., ADHD clinic, autism program)
- Supervision and training opportunities
- Increased compensation tied to service line growth
