Job Details: Job Location: College Station, TX 77845 | Position Type: Full Time | Salary Range: $36.00 - $50.00 Hourly | Job Shift: Day/Night Role Overview The Radiology Technologist (RT) is responsible for accurately performing x‑ray and CT scans ordered by the Emergency Room Physician and for assisting RNs and Physicians with all tasks within their scope of practice. The RT maintains quality, cost effectiveness, and guest relations, serves as a strong patient advocate, and educates patients and families about radiological studies conducted during their ER visit. Qualifications Completion of a two‑year program in Radiology studies. Current compliance with continuing medical education. Certification in CT required within six months of employment. Minimum of two years of experience, preferably in a hospital or acute care setting. Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are preferred but not required. Problem‑solving abilities and initiative to intervene immediately when patient safety requires. Job Responsibilities/Duties Excellent customer service skills and courtesy to every staff member. Document accurately all findings and complete documentation for pregnancy verification in females of childbearing age, and for diabetic and contrast iodine procedures. Perform laboratory point‑of‑care testing and all CLIA‑waived tests approved by the Laboratory Director. Accurate documentation of laboratory testing, critical values, and communications. Initiate intravenous access with physician’s order and obtain specimens for laboratory testing. Maintain accurate patient logs for CT, x‑ray, and ultrasound. Perform all daily lab and equipment checks for quality assurance. Maintain the facility in clean working order per OSHA standards and report any equipment failures or deficiencies to the Nurse Manager. Review company emails throughout each shift as this is the primary means of communication. Accurately document any incidents and report them to the Nurse Manager and Physician on duty. Use bio‑hazard containers correctly and empty sharps containers safely and in a timely manner. Working Conditions Fast‑paced emergency room environment. Must be able to lift and/or move using proper body mechanics and request assistance when needed. Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit; occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
