They contribute to the overall patient experience by delivering compassionate care, performing administrative tasks, and assisting with medical procedures.ResponsibilitiesPatient care: Assisting healthcare providers in patient care activities, such as taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and documenting medical histories.Medical procedures: Assisting with medical procedures, such as administering medications, collecting and preparing laboratory specimens, and performing basic point of care tests.Patient education: Providing patients with information and instructions regarding their medical conditions, medications, and treatment plans.Communication and coordination: Facilitating effective communication between patients, healthcare providers, and other medical staff.Compliance and safety: Adhering to healthcare regulations, privacy laws, and safety protocols to protect patient confidentialityElectronic health records (EHR): Proficiently using electronic health record systems to document patient information, update medical records, and retrieve necessary dataQualifications RequiredHigh School Diploma or EquivalentGraduate of a certified medical assistant programBasic Life Support at the Healthcare provider level trainingExperience in primary care or clinical settingBilingual SpanishPreferredSkilled with electronic medical records and email messaging systems.1 year of experience in a primary care or clinical settingBilingual (English/Spanish)Pediatric ExperienceSt Thomas Community Health Center offers a full competitive and comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees.
