Job Title: Pediatric Behavioral Health RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Pediatric Behavioral Health Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience required License: Missouri RN license or compact license required Certifications: BLS, CPI required Must-Have: Strong communication and de-escalation skills Experience using EPIC preferred Experience with pediatric patients preferred Description: This position involves working in an inpatient behavioral health unit. The focus is on providing care to pediatric and adolescent patients ages 5-17 with behavioral health needs. Common diagnoses include bipolar disorder, depression, suicidal ideation, self-harm tendencies, and ADHD. The nurse will complete daily assessments and administer medications. Supporting behavioral health technicians and floating to other areas may be required when necessary. The staff-to-patient ratio is 1:3. The role may involve working with patients receiving ECT, administering ketamine infusions, and managing NG tubes. Emphasis is placed on behavioral health skills. The role requires adherence to special procedures and protocols related to mental health care.
