Join Our Team as an Assembler at Epiroc!

Assemblers perform all required and assigned assembly operations related to mechanical and hydraulic tasks on drilling rigs and equipment following standard(s) and within company safety guidelines.

Responsibilities:

• Install and connect hydraulic and mechanical components and systems
• Mount, hook-up and connect engines, gear boxes, axles and other power components and units
• Assemble mounted hydraulic products which includes the installation and tightening of common bolts and hydraulic hoses per work instructions
• Rigging and lifting of components using a crane
• Maintain the cleanliness of the assembly area and perform 5S activities
• Detect and report defective materials, faulty operation, and unusual conditions to immediate Supervisor
• Follow prescribed safety regulations and guidelines
• Identify and report safety risks
• Maintain work related records and reports
• Perform other duties as required or directed

Occasional, Infrequent

• Train new hires
• Complete appropriate paperwork for rejected parts
• Return to Stock (RTS) non-required parts to the Warehouse

Knowledge/Education:

• Minimum 2 + years of assembly experience
• Knowledge of safe working practices in a manufacturing environment
• Able to use and comprehend specifications, blueprints, and schematics
• Knowledge of mechanical components/systems
• Knowledge of hydraulic components/systems
• Knowledge of electrical components/systems
• Basic knowledge of troubleshooting
• Basic computer skills including MS Office, ERP Systems, etc.
• Hand and power tools
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing preferred

Formal Education Requirement: High School Diploma or GED required

Duties are generally performed in a professional office environment that involves walking, stairs, extended periods of sitting, frequent use of computer screens, which may result in eye strain or fatigue-and the occasional need to lift up to 15 pounds. Minor distractions from general office noise and other activities may occur.

If working on the production floor, the work environment includes being regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions. Work may also involve climbing up to 4-6 feet using ladders and crawling underneath rigs. May also be required to lift up to 25 lbs.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required while on the production floor or testing area. PPE includes Hard Hat or Bump Cap, Safety Glasses & Steel Toe Shoes.
