Certified Nursing Assistant Job Requirements

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
• At least 1 year of bedside clinical experience; 2 years is highly preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to provide routine patient care and bedside support under the direction of a Registered Nurse
• Ability to follow patient safety, infection prevention, HIPAA, and Joint Commission standards
• Strong communication, organization, dependability, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work day shifts and maintain consistent attendance and punctuality

CNA Responsibilities

• Provide routine patient care, bedside support, and accurate documentation under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
• Promote patient and employee safety through safe patient handling, awareness of workplace hazards, and adherence to established procedures
• Prepare, assemble, deliver, and retrieve patient menus and nourishment items according to prescribed diets
• Assist patients with menu selections while considering diet orders, allergies, sensitivities, and cultural or religious preferences
• Review and update diet changes, menu information, and nourishment labels to reflect current orders
• Communicate patient care, dietary, and food service concerns to the appropriate department
• Print and distribute meal tallies, patient diet lists, nourishment lists, and other departmental reports
• Perform clerical duties such as answering phones, faxing, filing, photocopying, and responding to inquiries
• Maintain organized office operations and appropriate supplies for menus and departmental activities
• Assist food service aides, trayline operations, and catering activities as needed
• Attend required in-services and departmental meetings
• Perform other related duties as assigned
