Room Attendant - Part Time

Pay Range $16.90-$23.00 Job Title Room Attendant Department Housekeeping Supervision Exercised: N/A Received: Operations Manager, Housekeeping Supervisor Job Summary The room attendant maintains the cleanliness standards of the hotel in all guest rooms, back‑of‑house, and public areas. Responsibilities Cleans guest rooms to hotel standards, including guest hallways, public areas, and back‑of‑house areas as needed. Reports any maintenance issues to engineering and/or supervisor/manager for resolution. Thoroughly inspects each guest room after cleaning before the housekeeping supervisor performs a final inspection. Communicates recovery of any lost and found items to the Supervisor, Housekeeping Manager, or General Manager. Works effectively with team members to accomplish assigned tasks each day. Greets each guest encountered in the hallways, lobby, or public areas with “Good Morning”, “Good Afternoon”, or “Good Evening”. Follows procedures for entering and leaving guest rooms. Turns in keys and communication devices to the Housekeeping Department when the shift ends. Follows all instructions when filling spray bottles with cleaning chemicals; never mixes chemicals. Maintains organization and cleanliness of storage closets, guest laundry areas, and corridors. Arrives at scheduled start time in appropriate uniform and ready for work. Maintains control of keys issued for assigned duties. Works efficiently and as part of the team. Supports environmental commitments by demonstrating knowledge, skills, and values to be a leader in the global goal of “greening” the hospitality industry. Observes all safety policies and procedures during assigned duties. Works safely to prevent injury to self, other staff members, or guests. Properly handles all equipment and cleaning chemicals (e.g., washer, dryer, detergents). Minimum Requirements U.S. work authorization required. Six months of prior housekeeping experience in a hotel, resort, or similar setting (preferred but not required). Ability to work as part of a team. Ability to work with little or no supervision. Meets grooming standards. Strong attention to detail regarding cleanliness standards. Must be able to work varied shifts, including weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime.
