Materials Specialist

Insight Global is seeking a Materials specialist to join the team at a large Utility company here in Houston, Texas. A Materials/Logistics Specialist is responsible for coordinating the planning, procurement, storage, and distribution of materials to support operational efficiency and business objectives. This role ensures that inventory levels are accurately maintained and that materials are procured, received, stored, and distributed in a timely manner to meet production and project requirements. The specialist collaborates closely with vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to facilitate accurate deliveries, maintain detailed records of inventory transactions and material usage, analyze logistics data to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements, and ensure all logistics activities comply with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Through effective supply chain coordination and inventory management, this position helps optimize material availability, operational performance, and overall organizational efficiency.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Able to lift up to 70 pounds
• Knowledgeable on pipe materials
• Experience inputting data in SAP, Excel, or another similar program
• Excellent communication skills
• Comfortable working in a warehouse or outside
• Forklift Certified
• Nice to Have Skills & Experience:
• Experience working with SAP
• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management
