About the Position

Job Title: Labor and Delivery Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Labor and Delivery and postpartum care required License: Valid state nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP required Must-Have: Labor and postpartum experience is required Description: Labor and Delivery Nurse position available in obstetrics. The nurse will be responsible for providing care to laboring patients. Experience with postpartum care is essential. Ratios are 1:3 during shifts. Strong precepting skills are a plus. The position requires the ability to float between similar units. The hospital has a daily census of approximately 12 patients. This role involves managing both low and high-risk antepartum patients. Candidates should be experienced in acute care settings. Additional skills include triaging obstetric patients and performing sterile vaginal exams. Travelers may be required to float within the hospital or to nearby facilities. The position includes working two out of three major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year. Candidates must be willing to comply with all job requirements and expectations.
