Division/Program Summary: The Division of Family and Child Health (DFCH) of the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene is charged with the creation and oversight of programs, policies, services, and environments that support physical and socio-emotional health, and promote primary and reproductive health services, health equity, social justice, safety and well-being for New York City families and children. The Division is comprised of the Bureau of Maternal Infant and Reproductive Health, the Bureau of Early Intervention, the Office of School Health, and the Bureau of Administration. The vision of the DFCH is that every child, woman, and family recognizes their power and is given the opportunity to reach their full health and development potential. Job Duties and Responsibilities: - Support data entry and cleaning for the OSH Nursing Unit's systems that keep and track employee information to ensure smooth operations and precise data to inform nursing operations. - Support review, approval, and confirmation of vendor agency timesheets to ensure accurate payment and data on record for all contract nursing jobs. - Maintain records and files. - Consistently communicate with central and borough-based nursing staff as well as vendor agencies to obtain and track current nurse assignments and information. - Create simple reports and analysis of data for internal and external use. - Participate in agency wide activities for Emergency Preparedness. Minimum Qualifications
1. A four year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization; or 2. Completion of eleventh grade of high school, and one year of full-time satisfactory experience performing health-related or clerical duties. 3. Education and/or experience that is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have completed the eleventh grade of high school.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of DOHMH and DOE personnel policies and procedures. - Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. - Strong technology skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, with particular focus on Microsoft Excel. - Strong organization. - Flexibility and willingness to travel. - Excellent presentation skills.

Residency Requirement
New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
