Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical Surgical unit. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, supporting a diverse patient population. The ideal candidate must possess strong critical thinking skills and be capable of functioning effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team.

Shift Information

• Job Shift: Nights
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend and holiday requirements: Minimum of six weekend shifts in a six-week schedule, and participation in holiday scheduling is expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Medical Surgical unit.
• Perform assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor patient conditions and report any changes to the healthcare team.
• Assist with patient education and discharge planning.
• Float to other units as necessary, based on staffing needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Current BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS certifications are required.
• Ability to float to different areas within Zone 3 as needed.
• Strong clinical skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Unit Information

• Nurse: Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Common diagnoses include abdominal pain, chest pain, fever, cough, dyspnea, headache, and extremity pain.
• RN duties may include administering common drips such as cardiac, antihypertensive, antiarrhythmic, sedation, and analgesia.
• Respiratory therapy is available in-house 24/7, and RNs are expected to troubleshoot equipment.
• Self-scheduling and block scheduling options are available.

Orientation

Orientation details will be provided upon hiring. Candidates should be prepared to be on-site for the orientation week.
