We encourage you to apply for our entry-level position as well. \n \n Company: LED INDY \n Location: Indianapolis, Indiana \n Pay: $30–$40 per hour, based on experience and demonstrated capability \n Employment Type: Full-time \n Project Types: Commercial, industrial, service, remodel, and new construction \n Travel: Primarily local, with occasional overnight or out-of-area work \n \n The Opportunity \n LED INDY is seeking an experienced Lead Journeyman Electrician who can independently execute and lead commercial and industrial electrical work. \n \n This position is ideal for an electrician who wants more ownership, greater visibility, and the opportunity to help shape a growing electrical division. You will work on a wide range of projects involving electrical distribution, lighting, data, low-voltage systems, service work, remodels, and new construction. \n \n At LED INDY, strong performance is noticed. You will work closely with company leadership, take ownership of field execution, and have opportunities to grow as the company expands. \n \n What You Will Do \n \n Lead daily field activities on commercial and industrial electrical projects. \n Plan electrical work, identify required materials, and complete installations with minimal supervision. \n Direct and support electricians and apprentices while maintaining productivity, quality, and safety standards. \n Install and troubleshoot commercial electrical systems, including services, panels, transformers, feeders, conduit, lighting, and branch circuits. \n Perform work involving three-phase electrical systems. \n Read and interpret electrical drawings, plans, specifications, and applicable codes. \n Bend and install conduit accurately, including offsets. \n Complete underground electrical work, service upgrades, remodels, and new installations. \n Support projects involving EV chargers, lighting systems, data, low-voltage systems, fire alarm, and access control. \n Troubleshoot power-distribution and electrical-service issues in commercial and industrial environments. \n Coordinate field work with project leadership, customers, general contractors, and other trades. \n Train and mentor less-experienced electricians and apprentices. \n Maintain accurate time and project information using a smartphone-based field-management system. \n Work from ladders and lifts and perform the physical duties associated with commercial construction. \n \n \n Required Qualifications \n \n Significant commercial or industrial electrical experience. \n Strong working knowledge of three-phase electrical systems. \n Ability to perform commercial electrical work independently. \n Ability to read plans, determine materials, and organize field work without repeated direction. \n Demonstrated conduit-bending ability. \n Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. \n Working knowledge of electrical codes and safe work practices. \n Ability to lead small crews and communicate clearly with team members and customers. \n Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. \n Ability to use a smartphone for timekeeping and job documentation. \n Professional, dependable, and accountable approach to work. \n Ability to lift approximately 50–60 pounds and work from ladders, lifts, and elevated areas. \n Willingness to work occasional nights, travel assignments, or overnight projects when needed. \n \n \n Preferred Qualifications \n \n Approximately 7–10 years of commercial or industrial electrical experience. \n Valid journeyman electrician license or equivalent recognized field experience. \n Experience leading crews of four or more employees. \n Experience managing commercial projects from planning through completion. \n Experience with electrical services, panels, transformers, underground work, EV chargers, and commercial remodels. \n Experience mentoring or training electricians and apprentices. \n OSHA, lift, fall-protection, or other applicable safety certifications. \n \n \n Candidates with fewer years of experience may also be considered when they demonstrate strong commercial skills, three-phase knowledge, reliability, work ethic, and the potential to grow into a field-lead position. \n \n Compensation and Benefits \n \n $30–$40 per hour, based on experience, leadership ability, and technical skill. \n Overtime opportunities based on project needs. \n Biweekly pay. \n Paid time off and paid holidays. \n 401(k) retirement plan with employer contribution. \n Paid training and applicable safety certifications. \n Uniforms and required safety equipment. \n Per diem and accommodations for qualifying travel assignments. \n Company vehicle eligibility depending on position, responsibilities, and experience. \n Performance reviews with opportunities for advancement and increased compensation. \n \n \n Why Join LED INDY? \n \n Join a growing company where your contributions are visible and valued. \n Work directly with company leaders rather than becoming another number in a large organization. \n Take ownership of meaningful commercial and industrial projects. \n Gain exposure to lighting, electrical, data, service, remodel, and new-construction work. \n Help train future electricians and contribute to the growth of the electrical division. \n Build a long-term career with advancement opportunities tied to performance and responsibility. \n \n \n About LED INDY \n LED INDY provides lighting, electrical, and data services throughout the Indianapolis market.
