Job Description

6 Openings - 1 for each shift

3 Full- Time and 3 Part time (weekends only)

Hours: 1st shift - 6am-2:30; 2nd shift 2-10:30pm; 3rd shift 10pm-6:30am

Part time shifts Saturday and Sunday! - Same shifts

Day-to-Day:

• Troubleshoot, repair, install, and perform preventive maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration systems

• Monitor HVAC and refrigeration equipment for safe and efficient operation

• Service fan coil units, DX units, air handlers, air-conditioning equipment, fans, water heaters, converters, ductwork, and system controls

• Repair air-handling units, including filters, bearings, motors, belts, and alignment

• Install and service new HVAC and refrigeration equipment

• Use the Building Automation System to monitor performance and recommend programming improvements

• Complete preventive and corrective maintenance work orders using the computerized maintenance management system

• Track refrigerant loss, procurement, and storage according to government standards

• Install, maintain, and repair temperature-tracking field devices

• Participate in testing HVAC shutdowns triggered by duct smoke detectors

• Coordinate inspections, repairs, and installations to minimize disruption to occupants and operations

• Coordinate with water-treatment vendors and report conditions affecting equipment performance

• Follow Lockout/Tagout procedures and applicable safety and quality standards

• Attend weekly toolbox safety meetings

Insight Global is seeking an HVAC Mechanic for a top government facilities services client. This candidate will maintain mission-critical HVAC and refrigeration systems supporting active medical treatment facilities at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and completing preventive maintenance on air handlers, refrigeration equipment, controls, temperature-tracking devices, and related mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong mechanical, electrical, and plumbing aptitude, healthcare facility experience, current HVAC and refrigerant certifications, and a commitment to safe, reliable, and compliant operations.

Skills and Requirements

Must-Haves:

• Minimum 3 years of applicable HVAC experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience in healthcare facilities

• Certification through a nationally recognized HVAC certification program

• Current HVAC license or military journeyman level 5 or higher documented on a DD214

• EPA Section 608 certification

• Current Universal CFC license

• Valid driver’s license

• Ability to read and understand architectural and mechanical drawings

• Ability to interpret manufacturers’ submittals and technical literature

• Ability to specify and order equipment materials and replacement parts

• Ability to understand and implement infection-control policies and procedures

• Microsoft Office experience

• Ability to complete OSHA 10 General Industry Safety and Health training provided by the employer Plusses:

• Building Automation System experience

• Central Utilities Plant experience

• Experience with commercial refrigeration and temperature-tracking systems

• Experience using computerized maintenance management systems

• Experience servicing kitchen equipment, including hoods, refrigerators, freezers, and steam tables

• Familiarity with water-treatment systems and equipment-performance issues

• Experience working around active medical or healthcare operations
