Professor, Clinical Faculty Appointment (CFA), Melanoma Medical Oncology

Clinical Provide clinical expertise in patient care management and an appropriate teaching environment for fellows, residents, and students in the specialty of Melanoma Medical Oncology. Primarily serve as an attending physician in the outpatient clinical area and inpatient setting. Provide primary physician capabilities including patient history, physical examinations, and all aspects of primary patient care including cardiac resuscitation. Practice clinical medicine in an exemplary manner in standards set forth by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners, and the American College of Physicians, balanced with other academic activities. Must be capable of providing complete and thorough history and physical patient examinations. Must be able to perform invasive procedures as dictated by the physician's subspecialty of Melanoma. Research Develop research programs of scholarly activities in keeping within the goals of the Department. This includes participating in recruitment of patients to clinical trials, participating as a principal investigator or co-investigator in single institution or multi-center clinical trials, and developing investigator-initiated clinical trials. Requires the ability to synthesize a myriad of information pertaining to the area of research. May necessitate instructing, through written or verbal communication, research support personnel in clinical trials implementation. Identify grants and funding sources for funding of research, submit grants and protocols in accordance with rules and deadline applications, and develop budgets and analysis and complete grant and protocol application forms. Administrative and Service Participate in investigation and review of best practice initiatives and clinical and institutional effectiveness projects. Serve on institutional and hospital committees as requested by the Chair. Visually review all documents pertaining to committee functions. Represent the Department by participating or presenting at local, regional, state, and national meetings in the field of medical oncology. Education/Teaching Provide a balanced and integrated educational program in cancer medicine for fellows and for medical residents and students rotating through the Melanoma services. Attend and participate in Division/Department teaching and continuing education conferences which require verbal interaction with colleagues and walking to meeting location throughout the campus. Salary and Benefits This position has a target base salary of $418,585 to $508,649 and is eligible for incentive compensation, comprehensive health, wellness, time off, savings, and retirement benefits, as well as relocation support, as applicable.
