Senior Research Associate- Neurology

Job Title: Senior Research Associate – Neurology Department: Medicine | Neurology Location: Biomedical Research Tower (0112) Position Type: Regular Scheduled Hours: 40 Shift: First Shift Responsibilities: Conduct complex scientific investigations in a foundational biological/health science laboratory. Serve as a specialist or technical expert in epigenomic and transcriptomic mechanisms that contribute to neurodegeneration in Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases. Collaborate closely with the Principal Investigator to design, manage, and implement research projects. Plan, design, and conduct advanced experiments; execute molecular, biochemical, or other specialized procedures. Provide technical expertise in mouse and cellular models of neurodegeneration, circadian rhythms, and multi-omics analyses. Extract, analyze, and evaluate experimental data; develop and implement new or revised methodologies. Establish criteria, controls, and standards to achieve project goals. Prepare manuscripts, abstracts, and reports for publication and present findings at conferences. Support grant development by drafting, editing, and critiquing proposals; identify potential funding sources; cultivate relationships with sponsors. Oversee laboratory operations, ensure proper maintenance of equipment, negotiate and manage service contracts, and implement SOPs and safety protocols. Monitor compliance with regulations; train research staff; serve as consultant to other investigators. Qualifications: Advanced degree (PhD or equivalent) in Neuroscience, Biology, or a related field is preferred. Experience in molecular, biochemical, and/or cell-based research methods. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
