ESSENTIAL KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Assessment: Admit and continuously assess patient's condition; provide nursing care that meets physical, psychological, and spiritual needs; notify the doctor of changes requiring attention. Planning: Design, direct, evaluate, and document the plan of care; provide patient/family teaching; coordinate transitions of care; work with other disciplines to meet specialized needs. Implementation: Prepare patients physically, psychologically, and spiritually for treatments, surgeries, and diagnostic studies; report significant changes to Charge Nurse/Team Leader and/or physician; implement safety initiatives and protocols. Evaluation: Reassess patients at appropriate intervals; notify physician to modify interventions; adjust care to meet emerging needs. Report Skills: Give and receive bedside shift reports, including family participation, ensuring continuity of care for the oncoming shift. Job Requirements Bachelor of Science in Nursing and at least one (1) year of RN experience; 24 months minimum. Demonstrated competence in Registered Nurse I performance expectations or meets experience requirements upon hire. Registered Nurse: Texas, upon hire. Basic Life Support (CPR), within 14 days. Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 6 months. Pediatric Advanced Life Support, within 6 months. Location Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center, a 1,045-bed facility located in Texas.
