RN OR Circulator

The Registered Nurse (RN) OR Circulator is responsible for providing expert and compassionate nursing care to patients and their families within the operating room environment. This role involves managing daily patient flow to ensure safety, care quality, and satisfaction, performing clinical assessments, administering medications and treatments, and collaborating with healthcare providers and staff to optimize patient outcomes. The RN must demonstrate strong critical thinking, prioritization, and communication skills while working independently and adhering to regulatory and safety standards. Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily patient flow to optimize care, safety, and patient satisfaction.
• Triage incoming patient requests for services efficiently and effectively.
• Deliver patient education to support care plans, informed healthcare decisions, and wellness promotion.
• Delegate nursing care appropriately in compliance with Colorado statutes.
• Perform healthcare assessments, prioritize care, and apply critical thinking skills.
• Manage high volumes of patient telephone requests regarding medications, information, and assistance.
• Administer medications, perform treatments, and assist in procedures while adhering to patient safety guidelines.
• Coordinate patient care with physicians, Vail Health, and other healthcare providers to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
• Advocate for patient safety, preferences, and communication through Relationship-Based Care principles.
• Model Just Culture principles and organizational values consistently.

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Colorado or a valid compact state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in surgical or acute care settings.
• Strong clinical assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple patient care demands.

• Experience working in an operating room or surgical center environment.
• Familiarity with Relationship-Based Care and Just Culture frameworks.
• Previous experience coordinating interdisciplinary care teams.

• Must comply with HIPAA regulations at all times.
• Ability to handle a high volume of patient telephone requests.
• Delegation of nursing tasks must align with Colorado nursing statutes.
• Role requires adherence to patient safety and quality care standards in a surgical setting.

• Day shift schedule.
• Shift assignments determined by facility needs.
• May require flexibility to support patient care demands within the surgical center.
