Description

American Traveler is hiring a Polysomnographer / Sleep Tech for a pediatric close-to-home center, requiring 2+ years of pediatric and acute care hospital experience.

Details

• Pediatric sleep lab setting within a close-to-home center with an emergency department
• Primary location at Lewis Center with secondary coverage at Main Campus
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, Fri/Sat/Sun 5:00 PM to 6:00 AM
• Uses Epic charting system
• Floating to different units required depending on assignment needs

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years experience required, including pediatric and acute care hospital experience
• BLS and RPSGT certification required, RRT preferred
• License required if applicable
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with PSG, EEG, ECG, O2 saturation monitoring, End-Tidal CO2 monitoring, and Periodic Limb Movement (PLM) monitoring
• Experience with Respiratory Inductance Plethysmography (RIP) preferred
• Experience with baseline sleep polysomnography, portable sleep studies, and home sleep tests
• Experience with newborn polysomnogram with CPAP/BiPAP preferred
• Experience with adult MWT, adult MSLT, pediatric MSLT, seizure studies, and research studies preferred
• Experience scoring sleep stages, respiratory events, hypopnea, and arousals
• Experience with CPAP, BiPAP, VPAP, and ASV titration
• Experience with Cadwell and Respironics equipment preferred
• Mask fitting experience including full face, nasal mask, and nasal pillow
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Two professional references required at time of consideration, with at least one from a supervisor

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include patient monitoring, sleep study administration, staging and scoring, and titration procedures
• Perform infection control practices and patient education as part of daily duties
• Candidates must not have worked as a permanent employee at the facility within the last 2 years
• 60-mile radius rule applies for local candidates; no local candidates accepted for RN positions
• Travelers must be prepared to float to different units as needed
