VA Statewide Virtual Coaching Specialist Williamsburg, VA, US Salary Range: $50,000.00 To $57,000.00 Annually About CDR At Child Development Resources (CDR), we believe every child deserves a strong start. We are a mission-driven nonprofit providing high-quality early intervention services, family support, and inclusive early childhood education that nurtures the whole child—socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually. If you're passionate about making a difference and want a role that combines purpose with an exceptional work-life balance, we invite you to join our team. About the Role The Statewide Virtual Coaching Specialist supports high-quality care and education in VQB5 infant and toddler classrooms through virtual coaching and technical assistance (TA) and develops the capacity of other VA ITSN coaches by providing statewide leadership in virtual coaching. This position works with partners, VA ITSN regional offices, infant and toddler teachers, and directors to strengthen the quality of teacher-child interactions, curriculum implementation, and early learning experiences. The Specialist also serves as a statewide resource and subject matter expert in virtual coaching, helping build the capacity of VA ITSN coaches to deliver consistent, high-quality virtual services across Virginia. The position is full-time and will be housed onsite at CDR. What You Will Do Virtual Coaching Improve the quality of interactions that infants and toddlers receive while in child care centers and home-based child care by providing individualized supports to VQB5 classrooms with the lowest CLASS score. Support high quality care and education in infant and toddler classrooms in VQB5 through coaching. Recruit and select only infant and toddler classrooms, directors, and new teachers with limited CLASS experience participating in VQB5 to receive intensive virtual coaching services to improve the quality of teacher-child interactions and curriculum use. Use guidance provided by VDOE to prioritize publicly funded VQB5 sites/classrooms and new teachers with limited CLASS experience that need support the most. Collaborate on outreach and recruitment approaches with VDOE, Ready Regions, VECC, VA ITSN regional offices, and other improvement partners who provide instructional coaching or have existing relationships with VQB5 sites. Provide coaching services to a minimum of 13 infant and toddler classrooms/directors, to include home-based child care, with an estimated 238 hours. Coordinate with Ready Regions to ensure VQB5 participating sites/classrooms have access to a VDOE-approved curriculum and/or supplemental materials. Share the option of STREAMin3 curriculum in infant/toddler or home-based child care classrooms. Technical Assistance Support the improvement of quality teacher-child interactions and early learning and development of infants and toddlers, through the provision of TA. Provide TA to new infant and toddler teachers working in VQB5 sites in collaboration with Ready Regions and VA ITSN regional offices based on the new teachers’ needs and focusing on using CLASS and curriculum, such as infant/toddler interactions as measured by CLASS, curricula such as STREAMin3, and Virginia’s Early Learning & Development Standards (ELDS). Conduct a total of 200 TA hours for infant/toddler classrooms/sites which could include initiatives on environments, interactions, including LENA Grow™, implementing breastfeeding-friendly child care sites, adding infants and toddlers to sites, those sites serving infants and toddlers with special needs, and for other issues such as licensing and age-appropriate activities. Focus TA on CLASS dimensions most in need based on review of site and classroom scores. Promote services and connect directors and teachers to other relevant services, education opportunities, events, VA ITSN regional offices, and resources. Statewide Capacity Building Provide training, consultation, and technical assistance to VA ITSN coaches on effective virtual coaching strategies, tools, and best practices to strengthen statewide virtual coaching capacity. Design and facilitate professional learning opportunities for VA ITSN coaches focused on effective virtual coaching practices, technology integration, adult learning strategies, and evidence-based coaching techniques. Serve as subject matter expert on virtual coaching by collaborating with VA ITSN coaches to build capacity, address implementation challenges, and promote consistent delivery of high-quality virtual coaching services statewide. Develop and maintain procedures, forms, guidance documents, and marketing materials to support the promotion, implementation, and delivery of virtual services. Research, recommend, and coordinate the purchase and implementation of devices, technology, software, and related resources to support high-quality virtual service delivery. Administration & Professional Development Use Classroom Assessment Scoring System® (CLASS®) and curriculum data to plan and offer VA ITSN services. Enter data into the VA ITSN database weekly. Participate in meetings, including VA ITSN orientation, and all other trainings as required by position. Ability to plan and start up a new initiative and serve as a statewide resource for virtual coaching by providing training, consultation, and ongoing support to VA ITSN coaches to strengthen their capacity to deliver effective virtual services to infant and toddler teachers and directors. They are skilled at building collaborative relationships, coaching adult learners, and translating data and evidence-based practices into meaningful improvements in classroom interactions and early learning experiences. They are equally comfortable coaching an individual early childhood professional and serving as a statewide resource to other coaches. They are organized, technologically confident, collaborative, and excited by the opportunity to help shape and strengthen virtual coaching practices across Virginia. Why Work at CDR?
