As a Team Captain – Footwear & Apparel , you will coach teammates, drive sales, and ensure athletes find the right products for performance and style. Job Duties & Responsibilities Deliver outstanding athlete experiences by anticipating athlete needs and providing clear, accurate, and knowledgeable information about products and assortment. Uphold company merchandising and presentation standards by following established floor sets, signage requirements, price changes, inventory presentation, replenishment standards, and more. Promote and lead company programs (customer loyalty program participation, warranty sales, private label credit card enrollment, etc.). Work with the SM and ASM to develop 30‑60‑90 day plans supporting business priorities for assigned department(s). Help establish working plans related to operational initiatives, staffing, hiring, merchandising sets, and more. Execute plans and adjust as needed using independent judgment. Act as the sole leader in building when needed, performing general store oversight including opening and closing procedures, front‑end and cash office functions, teammate supervision, and more. Communicate departmental goals and plans to direct reports, assign workload based on skill levels, monitor progress, adjust plans, and ensure timely operational and merchandising initiative completion. Build and lead a strong team that delivers positive athlete experiences. Hire, onboard, and retain direct reports. Provide coaching, feedback, development, recognition, and motivation throughout the teammate lifecycle. Perform performance management, including annual reviews, promotional recommendations, and holding teammates accountable for compliance with policies and procedures. Adhere to and enforce policies related to safety, loss prevention, standard operating procedures, and external governing entities’ laws and guidelines. Hold teammates accountable for compliance. Qualifications High School Diploma or Equivalent 1–3 years of experience Previous retail/customer‑facing experience required Previous people leadership experience preferred Compensation & Benefits Targeted Pay Range: $52,500.00 – $66,500.00. This is part of a competitive total rewards package that could include incentive, equity, and benefits. Individual pay is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
