Senior Scientist - Precision Oncology

Amgen seeks a Senior Scientist in Precision Oncology to design and execute innovative studies validating cancer targets and therapeutic hypotheses. The role involves applying advanced technologies including CRISPR genome editing and emerging AI tools to accelerate oncology drug discovery within a collaborative research environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute innovative studies to validate oncology targets and test therapeutic hypotheses in cancer-relevant models
- Apply advanced CRISPR genome-editing technologies to establish target function and genetic dependencies
- Establish quantitative, fit-for-purpose assays investigating target engagement, pathway modulation, and mechanism of action
- Analyze complex data and communicate biological insights to multidisciplinary discovery and leadership teams
- Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies and AI tools to accelerate oncology discovery
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Cancer Biology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Chemical Biology, or related discipline
- 1–3 years postdoctoral and/or industry research experience
- Deep expertise in cancer cell biology, cell signaling, mechanistic pharmacology, and small-molecule drug discovery
- Subject matter expertise in advanced CRISPR technologies and genome engineering
- Strong background in advanced imaging technologies and high-throughput assay development
- Demonstrated scientific impact through first-author publications or patent inventorship
