POSITION:  Student Accounts Assistant (Part-Time)

DEPARTMENT:  Finance

REPORTS TO: Student Accounts Manager DIVISION: Finance

HOURS: Non-Exempt, Part-Time, 25 hours per week; Monday–Friday, 9:00–2:00

PAY RATE: $17.50 to $18.50/per hour

GENERAL DESCRIPTION : The Student Accounts Assistant provides front desk, customer service, billing, payment processing, and administrative support for the College’s Student Accounts Office. This part-time position serves as a primary point of contact for students and families by phone, email, and in person regarding student accounts, tuition billing, and payments. The position also supports daily office operations, including cash handling, account reconciliation, bank deposits, and general administrative support.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide friendly and professional assistance to students and families regarding student accounts, billing, payments and other routine account questions.
• Assist with student billing, refunds, and financial clearance for registration.
• Prepare and balance the daily bank deposit.
• Generate routine financial and student account reports.
• Monitor online tuition payments and assist with routine account discrepancies.
• Assist the Student Accounts Coordinator with reports, paperwork, and other daily office needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:  High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree or relevant experience in accounting, accounts receivable, billing, bookkeeping, banking, cash handling, customer service, or office administration preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, is required. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, customer service, and the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines independently.

NOTE:  Due to the driving requirements, this position is subject to the College’s Motor Vehicle Use Policy and the employee will be required to sign a release upon hire, as well as annually; so that the College may obtain a Motor Vehicle Report for the personnel file.
