Job Title: Licensing Analyst, (Patent Licensing) Location: San Francisco Bay Area or Dallas, Texas (Hybrid) Reports to: Chief Licensing Officer Comp: DOE Experience level: Master's or Juris Doctorate Graduate with 2-9 years' work experience max. Applicants must be legally authorized to work for any US Employer. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time The COMPANY VideoLabs is a professional intellectual property licensing platform with its headquarters in the Silicon Valley. We serve the technology industry through focused patent licensing programs, consulting, and expert services. VideoLabs' vision is to optimize the global high-tech intellectual property environment to be efficient, respected, and balanced. This will allow technology companies to have predictable, low-cost design freedom and will provide fair and just compensation to innovators who create impactful patented inventions. VideoLabs is well funded, has a core team of highly experienced business, intellectual property, and legal experts, and is rapidly growing across all aspects of its business. More information is available at Ideal for an MBA or JD graduate with 2-9 years of experience seeking an accelerated path into the patent licensing profession. Exceptional recent graduates will be considered, though the role's pace and scope make it a demanding entry point. About the Role Patent licensing blends legal strategy, financial valuation, negotiation, and relentless execution. Great outcomes are rarely decided in a single negotiation — they're built over months of disciplined engagement management: knowing exactly where every negotiation stands, ensuring commitments on both sides are met, and making sure the right analysis and materials are ready before the company sits down with a licensee. The Licensing Analyst makes that discipline real, day in and day out. This role sits at the operational center of VideoLabs' licensing program, working directly with senior licensing executives across every active engagement. It's designed as a launchpad: analysts who master engagement management, valuation support, and negotiation preparation can potentially grow into deal-facing and, ultimately, leadership roles within the licensing organization. Key Responsibilities Engagement Ownership & Pipeline Management Own the status, actions, and next steps across all active engagements, keeping the pipeline tracker accurate and current so leadership always has a real-time view of the business. Hold the team and licensees accountable — tracking commitments, following up proactively, and closing the loop on missed deadlines or overdue items. Team Coordination & Communication Keep leadership informed and run the recurring licensing staff meeting, confirming actions are on track and surfacing what's slipped. Drive individual accountability through weekly action summaries and regular one-on-ones with each action owner. Meeting & Negotiation Preparation Manage meeting logistics and lead internal preparation, so the team enters every licensee call aligned and ready. Own meeting follow-through — publishing notes, sending timely follow-ups, and keeping licensees in active, professional dialogue. Analytical & Presentation Support Build polished licensing presentations and support valuation and damages analysis alongside the company's technical and financial experts. Maintain engagement plans and track litigation status and case developments relevant to each negotiation. Identify and implement ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the licensing team's day-to-day operations. Growth Path: From Analyst to Licensing Director This position is deliberately structured as a proving ground for future licensing leaders. An analyst who masters pipeline ownership, cross-functional coordination, negotiation preparation, and valuation support gains working command of every discipline a senior licensing executive relies on negotiation strategy, damages and valuation methodology, litigation dynamics, and executive-level relationship management. As analysts demonstrate this command, VideoLabs expects to expand their scope, from managing the process behind engagements to owning licensee relationships and deal negotiations directly, and ultimately toward a Licensing Director role with P&L accountability for a portfolio of engagements. For an MBA or JD graduate seeking a long-term career in IP monetization, licensing, or technology transactions, this role offers an unusually direct and accelerated path into deal-facing leadership. Why This Role Matters Licensing programs succeed or fail on execution as much as on the merits of the underlying patents. A missed deadline, an untracked commitment, or a licensee follow-up that falls through the cracks can cost a program leverage, credibility, and revenue. The Licensing Analyst owns that execution layer — tracking every engagement, driving accountability internally and externally, and ensuring the negotiating team walks into every meeting fully prepared. In doing so, the analyst protects and advances the value of the licensing program while gaining an inside view of how patent monetization strategy is built and executed at the deal level. Qualifications MBA or JD from an accredited institution; 2-9 years of post-graduate work experience. Exceptional recent graduates will be considered, though the role scope is likely to be demanding without prior professional experience. Exceptional organizational discipline and follow-through; comfortable owning multiple concurrent workstreams with competing deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the judgment to interact professionally with senior executives and external licensees. Analytical aptitude and interest in financial valuation, damages analysis, or IP/patent strategy; prior exposure to IP, licensing, or litigation is a plus but not required. High proficiency with presentation and productivity tools (PowerPoint, Excel, and pipeline/CRM tracking tools). A self-starter mentality: someone who drives outcomes with urgency, holds others accountable constructively, and continually looks for ways to improve how the team operates. An attractive, highly commensurate compensation package is available. #J-18808-Ljbffr
