DAY/MID-SHIFT EMERGENCY ROOM (ER) RN CONTRACT – CHANDLER REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER (DIGNITY HEALTH / COMMONSPIRIT)

First Connect Health has an immediate 13-week travel contract opening for a high-caliber Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) in Chandler, Arizona (Greater Phoenix / East Valley metro). Operating within the 60-bed high-volume Emergency Department at Chandler Regional Medical Center—a designated Level I Trauma Center, accredited Chest Pain Center, and Comprehensive Stroke Center handling over 80,000 annual visits—this position features a 3x12 schedule across flexible day/mid start times. • Weekly Gross: $2,195.00
• Weekly Tax-Free Stipend: $1,475.00
• Hourly W2 Rate: $20.00/hr (36 regular hours)
• Overtime Rate: $30.00/hr

SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS

• Schedule: 3x12-Hour Days / Mid-Shifts (36 hours guaranteed weekly). Must be flexible to work all day/mid start times: 07:00, 09:00, 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, or 13:00.
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 regular hours guaranteed weekly.
• On-Call Requirements: NO MANDATORY ON-CALL REQUIRED! (Voluntary on-call available per departmental needs at $7.00/hr).
• Weekend & Holiday Coverage: Minimum 4 weekend shifts per monthly schedule period; must work 2 of the 3 major holidays during the holiday season.
• Facility & Unit Acuity: Chandler Regional Medical Center / Emergency Department (60 beds total; 14 fast-track beds; Level I Trauma Center).
• Staffing Ratios & Support: Typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3 to 1:4. Strong multidisciplinary support: dedicated Unit Secretary, 24/7 RT, ER Pharmacist (days), in-house Attendings/Midlevels 24/7, and Paramedics assisting with IV starts, lab draws, and discharges.
• Clinical Scope & Trauma Care: Blunt/penetrating trauma, gunshot wounds (GSW), motor vehicle accidents (MVAs), traumatic brain injuries, STEMI/cardiac resuscitations, acute stroke interventions, cardioversions, and procedural conscious sedation for fracture reductions. Pediatric population ~11% (patients <15 years are stabilized and transferred).
• Floating Scope: First to float between Chandler Regional and sister facility Mercy Gilbert Medical Center ER (located 7 miles / 15 minutes away; mid-shift float possible).
• EMR System & Uniform: Cerner; Scrub color is Navy Blue.

REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of dedicated acute care ER nursing experience in a Level I Trauma Center (must be recent within the past 12 months).
• Licensure: Active Arizona RN License or Compact/NLC Multistate License strictly in hand at submittal .
• Certifications Required at Submittal:
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC).
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN).
• Mandatory Testing & Orientation Gateways:
  • Must take and pass an online UNA Dysrhythmia Exam within 48 hours of receiving an offer (maximum 2 attempts permitted).
  • Mandatory Day 1 Simulation Lab Assessment (Pass/Fail) at hospital orientation. (Note: Failing the Day 1 Sim Lab results in placement on facility DNU list for 6 months).

Shift Flexibility Agreement: Candidate must explicitly confirm willingness and flexibility to work all staggered day/mid start times: 7a, 9a, 10a, 11a, 12p, and 1p. Floating Requirement: Must agree to float between Chandler Regional and Mercy Gilbert Medical Center ERs (7 miles apart), including potential mid-shift floating. Local Radius & System Non-Compete Rule: Candidates residing within a 50-mile radius are not accepted. Strict CommonSpirit/Dignity Policy: Candidate cannot have been employed as full-time, part-time, or PRN with ANY CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past 12 months. Submittal Rules & Compliance: Active AZ or Compact RN license, AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS/ENPC, and TNCC/ATCN must be active and uploaded with the initial submission file. Verified Level I Trauma ER experience within the last year must be explicitly documented on the candidate profile. Candidate must agree to take the UNA Dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of offer and acknowledge the Day 1 Pass/Fail Sim Lab requirement. Facility Cancellation Policy: Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment. All Requested Time Off (RTO) must be presented upfront with the submittal packet.
