About The Team The Motion Planning team at Avride is at the core of developing intelligent systems that allow autonomous vehicles to move safely and efficiently through complex environments. We are a highly collaborative group of engineers and researchers working to push the boundaries of vehicle autonomy by designing real-time motion planning solutions. About The Role As a Software Engineer on the Motion Planning team, you will play a key role in designing and implementing systems that determine how our vehicles move through the world. You’ll develop advanced planning algorithms, optimize vehicle trajectories, and contribute to the real-time performance and safety of our autonomous systems. What You'll Do Design and implement motion planning algorithms for autonomous navigation Develop systems that enhance motion stability, autonomy, and safety Analyze real-world driving data to refine vehicle planning and decision-making Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve vehicle behavior and system performance Optimize algorithms for real-time operation under computational constraints on onboard platforms Implement metrics for evaluating the quality of planning algorithms and safe vehicle operation What You'll Need Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field Strong programming skills in C++ and Python Background in developing and optimizing algorithms for real-time systems Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and improve algorithm performance Nice to Have Understanding of motion planning and navigation algorithms Experience with GPU programming and optimization using CUDA or similar technologies Familiarity with trajectory optimization techniques or similar constrained optimization problems Background in numerical methods or optimization libraries (e.g., Ceres, IPOPT, CasADi) Experience with robotics frameworks such as ROS Candidates are required to be authorized to work in the U.S. The employer is not offering relocation sponsorship, and remote work options are not available.
