Medical Diagnostic Sonographer Location: Islesford, Maine Schedule: Full-Time | Flexible Shifts Available As a Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist, you will be an essential part of the diagnostic team, using advanced sonography techniques to capture high-quality images that are key to patient care. What You'll Do Perform Diverse Ultrasound Exams Conduct a variety of ultrasound exams, including abdominal, pelvic, musculoskeletal, and vascular studies, ensuring high-quality and accurate imaging results. Operate Ultrasound Equipment with Precision Operate and adjust ultrasound equipment settings to ensure optimal image capture, providing the highest level of diagnostic accuracy. Ensure Patient Comfort and Safety Position patients properly for exams, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the procedure. Educate patients about the ultrasound process to alleviate any concerns. Collaborate with Healthcare Teams Work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to analyze and interpret ultrasound findings, contributing to timely and accurate diagnostic decisions. Accurately Document Imaging Results Record patient information and imaging results in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. Adhere to Safety and Regulatory Standards Follow HIPAA, AIUM, and other safety and regulatory guidelines to maintain a safe and effective working environment. Perform Equipment Maintenance Regularly check and maintain ultrasound equipment to ensure optimal functionality. Report technical issues promptly to minimize downtime. Engage in Professional Development Stay up to date with advances in sonography technology and best practices to enhance your skills and expertise. Qualifications Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field. Certification & Licensure: Current certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-S) required. State licensure as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in Maine, if applicable. Experience & Skills: At least 1 year of experience as a Sonographer in a healthcare or hospital setting preferred. Proficiency in operating ultrasound equipment and using associated software programs. Strong knowledge of human anatomy and ultrasound techniques. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in a patient care environment. Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team. Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and on-call shifts when necessary.
