Data Scientist

Job Description

As a Senior or Expert level Data Scientist, you will support Geospatial mission activities by applying data science techniques to analyze, visualize, and interpret mission-relevant data. This role is well-suited for a junior data scientist eager to apply foundational skills in a real-world intelligence environment while learning from senior technical staff.

Responsibilities

• Apply Python-based data analysis techniques to mission-relevant datasets

• Support data exploration, transformation, and analysis efforts

• Develop visualizations and analytic outputs to support intelligence exploitation

• Assist with building and refining data-driven analytic workflows

• Leverage SQL and other tools to query and manage structured datasets

• Collaborate with analysts and engineers to test and refine analytic methodologies

Required Skills

• Active TS/SCI clearance with willingness to take a CI polygraph
• Ability to work onsite in Springfield, VA (40 hours/week)
• 4+ years of experience working with SQL or NoSQL databases and cloud architectures
• Experience leveraging APIs to query systems and migrate data
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate challenging technical concepts
• Experience with programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Java
• Experience developing, sustaining, and monitoring operational data pipelines supporting multiple data formats and interfaces

Desired Skills

• Desired: Experience working with NGA IT enterprise solutions (e.g., NGA CORE, NGA MLOps), ATO processes, and Government NPE certificates; experience implementing processes, standards, and tools within an organization based on the Scaled Agile Framework for Enterprise; experience developing dynamic visualizations.
