Summary: The Medical Coder is responsible for reviewing clinical documentation and assigning accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for services rendered across all clinic sites. This role ensures coding accuracy, compliance with federal and payer-specific regulations, and supports timely, clean claim submission within eClinicalWorks (eCW). The Medical Coder plays a key role in minimizing denials, protecting revenue integrity, and supporting the organization's FQHC compliance and reporting requirements (including UDS and Section 330 obligations where applicable).Required Vaccines and Test: Influenza, Tdap, Hep B, MMR, Varicella, TB test, and Negative Drug Test results. Additional Vaccines may be required.Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication for provider queriesAbility to work independently and manage a high-volume caseload with accuracyProficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel for tracking/reporting)High degree of integrity given access to sensitive patient and financial dataPhysical Demands: Duties are generally performed in an office environment where hazards and discomforts are controlled and modifiable. This position is primarily sedentary work involving extended computer use. This position requires the ability to stand, bend at the waist, kneel, reach over the head, talk, hear, and see. Must be able to move or lift documents and materials weighing up to 30 pounds. Position requires knowledge and use of typical office equipment including telephones, copiers, fax machines, and personal computers. Position requires frequent contact with fellow employees, patients and community.
