Shipping SupervisorPosition at JBS USAPurpose and Scope/General Summary: We are looking for a Shipping Supervisor at the Lenoir, NC facility! This role directs and controls warehouse activities to ensure efficient, economical use of facilities for storing and distributing raw materials and finished goods inventory. Plans and schedules department functions to ensure prompt delivery of the correct merchandise in the ordered quantity. Staffs, organizes, and directs warehouse operations to effectively manage the receipt, storage, selection, packaging, loading, and shipping of products to customers.Resume required for this position. Applicants without resumes will not be considered.Responsibilities:Establishes operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.Ensures products, parts, or supplies are shipped, distributed, or received efficiently.Works with department heads to ensure coordination of warehouse activities such as production, sales, records control, and purchasing departments.Prepares or reviews distribution documents.Ensures products are loaded correctly and promptly.Transportation responsibilities: schedules all outgoing loads with carriers, including coordinating pick-up times.Controls costs through productivity of personnel, efficient utilization of storage space, and proper protection of stored materials.Maintains records of inventories and location for production control and cost accounting.Recommends warehouse/material handling equipment needs and replacement.Responsible for enforcing company policies of conduct and safety and initiating disciplinary action.Identifies the causes of product losses and takes corrective action.Qualifications: (pick applicable)Experience in a fast-paced environmentPrevious experience in a shipping environment requiredPrevious supervisory experienceExcellent oral and written communication skillsStrong troubleshooting skillsStrong time management and organizational skills; Ability to multitaskCan perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodationAs a salaried position with the company, you may be required to travel at some point to other facilities, to attend Company events, or as a representative of the Company in other situations.
