Position Title:Sr. Manager, ConstructionReports To: (Job Title)Director, Real Estate & FacilitiesDepartment:FacilitiesHR Approvals:Date: 2/9/2021FLSA Status:ExemptJob SummaryThe Sr. Construction Manager will work closely with the Director of Real Estate and Facilities to ensure delivery of interior alternation projects across the US. The Sr. Director of Construction will provide general supervision of construction-related projects and will oversee the Construction Project Managers.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesDetermine manpower requirements for a project and ensure that goals are met. Monitors contractors’ work for compliance with schedule, budget, quality, safety, and overall conformance with the contract documentsSetting targets, objectives and responsibilities for all supervised staffRegularly review timings, budget, labor, risk and project plans to ensure work stays on trackRecommending policy and procedure improvementsEnsuring the delivery of high-quality work within contract timescales and that contractual obligations are fulfilledDealing with contract disputes and mitigating the impact of any issuesResolves field construction problems in coordination with engineering staff, third parties, and other agencies as necessary.Attends progress meetings, develops status reports, and delivers presentations as required.Assists in negotiating with contractors regarding changes to design, construction work scope, and schedulesDevelops and implements a quality audit program, monitors contractor corrective actions, and ensures a quality project conforming to plans and specificationsOversight of contractors, as well as internal and external construction project managersResponsible to ensure design standards are maintainedCreate and maintain project schedules and budgetEnsure FF&E is delivered in accordance with schedulesTravel to jobsites as required Approve A,M,E,P drawings for compliance with standards and to ensure smooth permitting processMaintains continuous improvement process with plans being submitted to AHJ. Perform minor repairs as neededAdditional Duties & ResponsibilitiesBe able to follow through and provide quick and accurate resolutionsBe flexible with job duties as necessary and able to work independently with little supervision.As part of the facilities team, during the event of an emergency situation or natural disaster, candidate must be willing to work before and after the event.Should Cano trigger emergency response for natural disasters in South Florida, this position will lead a division of the emergency response plan.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesSupervise project managers, vendors and contractors as directed.Education & ExperienceBS/BA degree in Architecture, Building Science, Engineering, Construction Management, or (7+) years of field experiencePMP or an equivalent certification would be considered an assetExtensive previous work experience managing budgets for construction projectsKnowledge, Skills & Proficiencies Excellent knowledge of construction materials and equipmentHighly organizedPrevious experience in a leadership role with strong and proven leadership skillsKnowledge of MS Office SuitePrevious work experience in construction management or another similar roleUnderstanding of construction management processesFamiliar with construction and project management software programsExcellent knowledge of relevant rules and regulations as well as quality standards
