Our client, a well-established and industry-leading law firm, is seeking a Bankruptcy Attorney to join its growing National Bankruptcy practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with creditor-side bankruptcy experience who wants to take on meaningful responsibility while working with sophisticated institutional clients.

The attorney will represent mortgage lenders and servicers in bankruptcy matters, protecting and enforcing secured-creditor rights throughout Chapters 7, 13, and 11 proceedings. This position offers the opportunity to manage matters from start to finish and develop deeper expertise in creditor bankruptcy, mortgage servicing, and loss mitigation.

What You'll Do

• Represent institutional mortgage lenders and servicers in bankruptcy proceedings
• Manage bankruptcy matters throughout their lifecycle, from filing through resolution
• Prepare and review proofs of claim
• Draft and argue motions for relief from stay
• Review bankruptcy plans and prepare objections when appropriate
• Handle loan modification and loss-mitigation matters
• Monitor post-petition compliance and related requirements
• Analyze bankruptcy, servicing, and investor-guideline issues
• Research applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations
• Develop legal strategies designed to minimize financial risk and maximize client recovery
• Attend hearings and mediations throughout Florida
• Manage a high-volume caseload while meeting strict deadlines
• Communicate effectively with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and internal teams

What We're Looking For

• 2–3 years of bankruptcy attorney experience
• At least 1 year representing creditors in Florida Bankruptcy Courts
• Active Florida Bar membership and good standing
• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Experience managing cases from start to finish
• Ability to effectively prioritize and manage a high-volume caseload
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to analyze case law and provide practical recommendations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable working independently while contributing to a collaborative team
• Strong technology and Microsoft Office skills
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and a fast-paced environment
• Willingness and ability to travel throughout Florida for hearings and mediations
