Senior UEFI BIOS Engineer

We are recruiting a Senior UEFI BIOS Engineer to take a leading role in new product development for rugged embedded computing platforms used in demanding defense, aerospace, and industrial environments.

This is a hands-on engineering position focused on developing, porting, and customizing BIOS for newly designed hardware. You will work closely with hardware, FPGA, firmware, and software engineers from initial board bring-up through production release.

Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Develop and customize UEFI BIOS for new Intel/x86 embedded platforms

• Adapt AMI or Intel reference BIOS to newly designed hardware

• Lead BIOS bring-up and platform initialization on new boards

• Debug low-level hardware, firmware, memory, register, and peripheral issues

• Validate interfaces including PCI Express, USB, SATA, and related board-level functionality

• Partner with hardware and firmware teams to isolate integration issues

• Support BIOS development through testing, release, and manufacturing

Required Qualifications

• Hands-on experience developing UEFI BIOS, not simply supporting BIOS-based systems

• Direct experience with BIOS porting, customization, and new-board bring-up

• Strong C programming and low-level embedded development skills

• Experience with Intel x86/x86-64 architecture and platform initialization

• Working knowledge of AMI BIOS, Intel reference BIOS, or comparable commercial BIOS platforms

• Strong understanding of hardware/firmware interaction, registers, memory, and peripherals

• Experience debugging newly developed hardware running BIOS code you helped develop

• Ability to work full-time on-site in Huntsville

Additional experience with Secure Boot, AMD Ryzen, ARM, IPMI, U-Boot, Embedded Linux, VPX/OpenVPX, RTOS, Git, Jenkins, or defense/aerospace systems is valuable.
