Graduate Nurse, RN Transitional Residency Program

Position Overview Begin your nursing career with confidence through our 12‑month Nurse Residency Program at United Health Services (UHS). Tailored for new nursing graduates, the program provides intensive clinical training, mentorship from experienced RNs, and a competitive salary with benefits. Work Locations UHS Wilson Medical Center, Johnson City, NY and UHS Binghamton General Hospital, Binghamton, NY. Candidates may be required to float across multiple UHS facilities. Shift and Compensation Primary shift: Rotational. Hourly compensation ranges from $37.00 to $55.50, depending on experience. Compensation is based on a starting rate of $40.70 per hour with no contractual obligation to stay after the residency. Program Highlights Complete 30 hands‑on “skills encounters” during the first six months. Progress from on‑unit shadowing to supervised clinical care. Last six months focus on leadership development through workshops on clinical coaching, evidence‑based practice, communication, and de‑escalation. Compensation and Benefits Starting base pay $40.70 per hour plus shift differential. Tuition forgiveness: $15,000 for ASN, $20,000 for BSN. Relocation assistance: $5,000 if residing >50 miles from Binghamton. Immediate accrue PTO, 403(b) plan with employer match. Comprehensive health, dental, vision insurance for positions ≥32 hours per week (80% FTE). Qualifications Education : Graduate of an accredited nursing school. Preferred: B.S.N. Experience : Previous clinical experience in acute or ambulatory settings. License/Certification : Current New York State Registered Nurse license or limited permit. Preferred Certification : CPR within 3 months of hire; professional specialty certification (e.g., ACLS, Basic Coronary).
