Layout Technician

Description Cates Control Systems, in Plano and Wylie, TX is looking to hire a Layout / Staging Technician. Joining the Cates team is both challenging and rewarding. You will become an important member of a very talented and dynamic team within our industry. If this sounds like you, please read on! The Role Login to the appropriate software database based on the project number as shown on the drawings. Check out all hardware from the parts staging area. Layout all hardware and materials according to the drawings provided. Drill and install all parts onto the back panel. Make sure all empty boxes are kept until the job ships. Make sure all paperwork for each part is kept with the panel. Cut/Hole-punch enclosures according to the provided drawings. Install all required hardware on the enclosure. Locate and designate any hardware that needs to be “loose shipped” with project. Return any unused hardware for the back pan or enclosure. Complete the layout check sheet supplied with drawings. Education and Experience High school diploma or GED preferred 2 years prior experience preferred This position requires a significant amount of bending and standing Must be able to lift at least 75 pounds at any time Ability to read wiring schematic UL508A and NEC experience Good project and time management skills More About Us Cates Control Systems was founded over 40 years ago and is a systems integration company that partners with manufacturing firms to develop and implement automation solutions to increase production, improve quality and reduce costs. We have two shifts you can choose to work; they are below: 5:00 am – 3:30 pm 6:00 am – 4:30 pm. Weekend availability: Saturdays from 6:00 am – 2:00 pm (expected to work one Saturday each month). Overtime pay available for hours worked beyond 40 hours in a week.
