Luncheon Aide

The Luncheon Aide is responsible for assisting in the preparation, distribution, and delivery of meals for both congregate and homebound participants. This role requires maintaining cleanliness in the cafeteria and luncheon area, following food safety guidelines, assisting with meal counts and inventory, and providing excellent customer service to clients.

Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:30am-1:30pm (part-time)

Responsibilities

  • Meal Distribution: Receive and distribute prepared meals to participants, ensuring meals are served accurately and in accordance with established portion sizes.
  • Cleaning & Sanitation: Perform manual tasks related to cleaning the eating areas, including wiping down tables, disposing of refuse, and cleaning spills. Maintain the cleanliness of cafeteria areas, including serving trays, utensils, and coffee pots.
  • Food Safety & Sanitation: Accurately record food temperatures, following food sanitation and safety policies. Adhere to guidelines for receiving, holding, serving, packing, and dish-washing procedures.
  • Wait Service: Wait on tables, delivering and removing eating trays as needed.
  • Site Manager Support: Provide back-up for Site Manager responsibilities when required, including acting as the interim Site Manager in their absence.
  • Meal Count & Inventory: Assist with calculating daily meal counts and tracking inventory items.
  • Client Assistance: Assist with client inquiries and meal scheduling, including coordinating transportation for participants.
  • Meal Delivery: Deliver meals to homebound participants as needed.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform all other duties as assigned, which may include clerical tasks, SAMS support, and meal delivery as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Computer Skills: Learn to utilize various computer programs, including SAMS, Word, and Excel.
  • Organization: Ability to carry out recurring tasks independently, following established procedures and policies.
  • Communication: Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Capable of writing clear and descriptive reports.
  • Relationship Building: Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, and the public.
  • Healthy Work Environment: Work to foster a positive, collaborative, and healthy work environment.
  • Licensing: Must possess a valid NJ driver's license.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Food Safety Certification: Required to pass and maintain food sanitation certification (e.g., ServSafe).

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is:

  • $40,000-$50,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
