Must have 2 years of Neuro ICU experience and/or 2 years of comprehensive stroke center experience in a large hospital. Must be able to read and interpret strips.

Description:The position involves working in a fast-paced Neuro ICU.The unit treats neurological diseases and disorders, including seizures and strokes.The unit is designated as a comprehensive stroke center.The nurse will also manage overflow patients from other intensive care units.The role requires floating between facilities as directed.The nurse will be the first to float, as applicable.Availability to work every other weekend and holiday is required.The unit provides care for patients diagnosed with ischemic strokes, hemorrhagic strokes, seizures, encephalopathy, and neuromuscular disorders, among others.Bedside procedures include EVD placement, central line placement, and management of ventilated patients.The nurse will work with interdisciplinary teams, including therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.Candidates must be comfortable floating to other units based on skill sets and patient census.Charting experience in Epic is required.Previous charge experience is preferred.The unit supports high acuity medical and surgical care.Patient ratios may vary.
