Job Description
Title: Telemetry Registered Nurse - Medical-Surgical

Schedule:
- Weekends: Yes - every other weekend
- On-call: No

Assignment Details:
- Assignment lengths: Open to 26-week or 13-week

Requirements:
- Minimum experience: 1 year
- License: Current state nursing license
- Certifications: BLS required, telemetry interpretation/management competency required (Hardstop)
- EMR: EPIC required (EPIC hardstop)
- Unit-specific skills: Telemetry interpretation/dysrhythmia recognition and management, peripheral and central line care, IV starts/maintenance, blood product administration, HFNC and oxygen therapies, non-invasive airway management, IV insulin and heparin protocols, isolation precautions/PPE

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry readings, ensuring timely management of dysrhythmias.
- Administer medications, fluids, and blood products as per established protocols.
- Provide comprehensive patient assessments and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for care planning.
- Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatments, and recovery.
- Document all patient interactions and care provided accurately in the EMR system.

Compliance / Notes:
- Orientation: 40 hours
- Pre-approved time off: One request allowed; more requires approval and may delay offer
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
