Opportunity:

Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)

Job Details:

• CRNA coverage for a Level 1 trauma center serving patients ages 13 through end of life
• Contract length of 13 weeks with options to extend
• Schedule requires weekly availability with 4x10-hour shifts or 3x12-13 hour shifts per week, plus 1 rotating Saturday each month; no call required
• Preference given to candidates available to work weekends (Saturdays and Sundays)
• All time off requests must be made upfront; time off requests exceeding 5 consecutive days will not be approved during summer months
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility; no local candidates will be considered
• Practice settings include main OR, outpatient surgery center, and endoscopy center
• Anesthesia team covers 33 ORs in the main OR, 16 offsite anesthesia locations, 12 outpatient surgery ORs, and 3-4 stand-alone GI center rooms
• Cases will not include open heart/thoracic, pediatrics, obstetrics, or performing peripheral nerve blocks
• All CRNA scopes of practice required
• EMR: Epic (preferred experience)
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; academic background and Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience preferred
• One year of Academic Medical Center or Level 1 trauma center experience required
• Experience working regularly with ASA 3+ patients preferred; outpatient-only candidates will be considered
• Board certification required
• Active Virginia state license required
• ACLS and BLS certifications must be valid and completed through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Must provide 2 full references or contact information for 2 references with submittal

Facility:

This facility is a large academic medical center and Level 1 trauma center with 600 hospital beds. The anesthesia department is robust, comprising 60 CRNAs, approximately 70 attending anesthesiologists, and 60 anesthesia residents. The facility offers both inpatient and outpatient practice settings, providing clinicians with a dynamic and comprehensive clinical environment.
