About the Role
The Company is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join their team, with a focus on registered funds legal matters. The successful candidate will be responsible for advising on all legal aspects related to registered funds, including the drafting and review of offering, marketing, and other documentation. This role also involves ensuring compliance with SEC and FINRA regulations, particularly in the context of the 1940 Act and its provisions for transactions, fund of fund matters, and advisory services. The Senior Counsel will be expected to negotiate a variety of agreements with registered fund counterparties and manage outside counsel as needed. Applicants for this position should have a JD from a top law school, be admitted to the NY State Bar, and have 4-10 years' of experience in the registered funds or mutual funds legal sector, either in-house or with a leading law firm. A strong background in the '40 Act, registered fund formation, and mutual fund legal matters is essential. The role requires a team player with excellent communication skills, who can work closely with the legal team on a range of projects. The position offers a hybrid working environment and is based in New York City or Greenwich, CT.
