Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 18:45–07:15

Key Responsibilities

• Provide intrapartum, high-risk antepartum, and postpartum care for obstetrical patients 16 weeks and greater, as well as select high-risk patients under 16 weeks
• Manage double labor assignments, which are a daily occurrence on this high-volume unit
• Perform sterile vaginal exams and deliver competent immediate newborn care
• Circulate for scheduled and unscheduled Cesarean births and rescue cervical cerclage procedures
• Conduct obstetrical triage, antenatal fetal surveillance, intravenous hydration, and medication administration for outpatient procedures
• Float as needed to the Special Maternity Care high-risk OB unit; work every other weekend with a minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule

Required Qualifications

• Active NC RN license or valid Compact RN license (pending licensure acceptable at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required; 3 years strongly preferred given the unit's complexity and pace
• Experience in a high-volume setting with more than 300 births per month is required
• Required certifications: BCLS, AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, and NRP
• Proficiency in circulating to the OR, sterile vaginal exams, and immediate newborn care
• Local candidates are welcome; candidates within 50 miles of the facility are eligible at an adjusted rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 3 or more years of Labor and Delivery experience in a large, high-acuity, high-volume setting
• Familiarity with EPIC, PYXIS, and SBAR documentation systems
• Prior experience circulating in an OR environment within an obstetrical setting
• First-time travelers are considered, provided they have experience in a comparable high-volume setting
