This role also leads design efforts with limited support from senior staff for larger, high-complexity projects.You will work with engineers and consultants to provide project direction, engineering solutions, and advice to clients, while managing project budgets, supporting training and mentoring, and collaborating across functions. The team supports healthcare and MEP work, including education and healthcare projects, while advancing high-performance, energy-efficient design aligned with MEP2050 and AIA2030.At a GlanceLocation: Minneapolis, MNDiscipline: ElectricalMarkets: Healthcare; MEPOwnership: 100% employee-owned (ESOP)Travel: Up to 20%Work Schedule: Full-time hybridSponsorship: Not availableWhat You'll DoTechnical Path· Lead electrical-system analysis and develop detailed designs, specifications, and calculations using engineering software and tools.· Perform site assessments and prepare analysis and technical reports.· Gather project requirements, communicate technical information, and build client relationships.· Conduct in-process design reviews and implement quality control processes.· Train, mentor, and motivate staff.· Provide technical assistance to resolve field issues with limited support from senior staff.· Stay current on electrical engineering trends and contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts.· Prioritize safety and mitigate potential electrical-system safety risks.· Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions.· Participate in project interviews and presentations.ORProject Management Path· Coordinate, oversee, and manage projects of varying size and complexity.· Assist Project Executives and Client Executives with design scopes, fee calculations, proposal generation, and contract reviews.· Create project schedules with milestone targets and deadlines.· Serve as the point of contact for project teams and clients.· Create monthly billings, submit financial information to Accounting, and update billing projections and estimated completion percentages.· Ensure designs meet owner, IMEG, and code requirements and that quality control and construction technical support are completed on time.· Coordinate project scheduling across design and construction phases, lead progress meetings, and document meetings.· Conduct construction site visits and provide requested documentation.· Resolve client and construction concerns, manage change orders, and obtain approvals.· Train, mentor, motivate staff, and build client relationships.What You'll BringCandidates may qualify through either the Technical Path or Project Management Path below.Technical PathRequired Skills and Abilities· Adept in the technical aspects of one’s discipline; advanced proficiency in technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles of circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systemsProject Management PathRequired Skills and Abilities· Demonstrated leadership traits in the Project Management career pathRequired for Both PathsEducation and Experience· Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, required· Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred· 7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting industrySkills and Abilities· Knowledge of Illumination Engineering Society (IES) Standards and reference material resources such as NFPA Link, TechStreet, MadCAD, and Facility Guideline Institution (FGI)· Advanced proficiency of Master Specification editing and software such as eSPECS; Proficient with Adobe or Bluebeam Revu· Ability to mentor, train, motivate, and lead others· Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise· Ability to sell work and develop client relationships· Strong training and mentoring skills· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups· Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment· Attention to detail and problem-solving skills· Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook· Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight staysAbout the Team· Broad MEP-focused portfolio with a strong emphasis on education and healthcare work.
