At MKBC, we save lives every day by providing blood products to hospitals in PA and NJ. The Part-time Mobile Collections Specialist (Phlebotomist) in Reading position supports the Blood Center by collecting blood donations (blood and blood products) safely from volunteer donors in a compassionate and professional manner. The anticipated salary starts at $18.00 per hour and is commensurate with experience. In addition, Miller-Keystone offers the following to all part-time employees:

What you will be doing:

• Utilize job experience and knowledge to provide exceptional donor experiences.
• Ability to utilize all computer systems to process donors through their donor process (screening and whole blood phlebotomy, and automated collections when appropriate).
• Take personal responsibility for donor safety, complying with all Blood Center standard procedures and other regulatory standards.
• Set-up all supplies and equipment, completion of daily QC, and assure all equipment and supplies are available before the collection event.

What you will bring to the role:

• A minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
• Medical Assistant Certification or Phlebotomy Certification is strongly preferred.
• 6 months' experience in a Blood Center or other Healthcare environment is strongly preferred.
• 1 years' experience in customer service is strongly preferred.
• Ability to effectively interact with diverse people and communicate (verbal, written, and listening) fluently in English
• Proficient with basic computer skills and office tools, such as Microsoft Office, and ability to use software relevant to the position
• Ability to solve problems and make decisions, seeking guidance as necessary.

Additional information: This position reports directly to the Mobile Collections Manager

The hours for this part-time position are 7:00am to 3:00pm on Friday-Sunday.

Training for this position will require full-time hours from 8:00am to 4:00pm Mondays-Friday for the first two-three weeks of employment.

A schedule is provided one-two weeks in advance.

The first month of training will take place onsite at our blood center at 1465 Valley Center Parkway Bethlehem, PA.
