Fiber TechnicianAt Advanced Electric Systems, we are looking for experienced Fiber Technicians. In this role, you'll install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic systems in both aerial and underground environments. You'll work on critical infrastructure projects, travel frequently, and contribute to the reliability of communication networks that power modern life.We are actively hiring in Heber City, Utah and Austin, Texas, expanding our team to support growing regional demand.AES is proud to be a Quanta Services company, offering unmatched resources, stability, and opportunities for growth.What You'll DoAs a Fiber Technician you will:Perform fusion and mechanical splicing of fiber optic cablesTest and troubleshoot fiber using OTDRs, power meters, and related diagnostic toolsRead and interpret splicing diagrams, network maps, and construction drawingsInstall enclosures, patch panels, and other fiber componentsMentor and provide guidance to less?experienced technicians on job sitesMaintain accurate daily logs, documentation, and test recordsWork closely with project managers and field crews to meet schedules and quality standardsFollow all company safety practices and site?specific safety requirementsTravel regularly for project assignments, including overnight staysWhat You'll BringRequired Qualifications2–3 years of experience in fiber optic installation, splicing, and testingStrong understanding of fiber types, color codes, and industry standardsProficiency with OTDRs, power meters, VFLs, and related toolsValid driver's license with a clean driving recordAbility to work outdoors year?round, lift 50+ lbs, and work at heights or in confined spacesStrong attention to detail, work ethic, and commitment to safetyPreferred QualificationsOSHA 10 and CPR/First Aid certificationsCDL or willingness to obtain oneExperience in both underground and aerial fiber constructionLeadership experience or ability to lead small crewsFamiliarity with GIS tools and digital job tracking platforms (iPads/tablets)What You'll GetYou'll join Advanced Electric Systems (AES) a proud subsidiary of Quanta Services (NYSE: PWR), the largest utility contractor in North America.
