QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience Psychiatric Assistant I * A minimum of a high school diploma or GED required, plus one (1) year of customer service, medical/helping profession direct service experience, or administrative support services experience required Psychiatric Assistant II * A minimum of a high school diploma or GED required, plus two (2) years of progressive experience in customer service, medical/helping profession direct service experience, administrative functions, and systems integration experience required Psychiatric Assistant III * A minimum of a high school diploma or GED required, plus three or more (3+) years of progressive experience in customer service, medical/helping profession direct service experience, administrative functions, and systems integration experience required * Experience in developing & implementing system improvements, training development, facilitating meetings and providing coaching required

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Position Specific Psychiatric Assistant I/II:
  • Accurately enter data into internal and county electronic health databases
  • Take vitals on clients during doctor visits or vital drop-in clinics
  • Review and schedule psychiatric appointment requests
  • Gather signatures for treatment plans and informed medical consents
  • Provide excellent communication and services when working with families
  • Work with external partners in continuity of care
  • Review and give out written prescriptions to clients
  • Verification of pharmaceutical information in electronic records
  • Research external medical prescriptions
  • Scan, copy, and input medical documentation into electronic record
  • Process referrals and ensure program access to referrals
  • Facilitate the scheduling of appointments with primary care providers
  • Manage tracking tool which provides data on expiring psychiatric documents
  • Prepare templates for psychiatric requests such as Prior Authorization
Requests and treatment summaries * Communicate with doctors and direct care staff to ensure coordination of care for youth and families
  • Facilitate Medication Monitoring Audit
  • Process records request
  • Other duties as necessary for the agency, as assigned
Psychiatric Assistant III: Performs essential job functions of a Psychiatric Assistant I/II in addition to the following: * Creating and managing the documentation of practices and systems within the team & agency * Creating and implementing training on records requests and coordination with Psychiatry services * Monitors and maintains current doctor Census and reports out to Manager current availability for appointments. * Reviews current trends in psych appointments and collaborates with management to support efficiency and cross department collaboration * Supporting with review, collection and export of charts & evidence for various counties and state audits * Co-facilitating team meetings and contracted psychiatrist check-in meetings. Agency Specific * Performs all duties in a manner consistent with the principles and values of agency, while adhering to applicable professional codes of ethics, the agency’s policies and procedures, contractor requirements, and regulatory requirements. * Model and communicate appropriate positive attitudes toward the agency’s Mission, Vision, and Values * Work collaboratively with all agency programs and staff to provide support as needed * Utilize and maintain calendar with all work-related details in order to manage time effectively and share calendar information with coworkers
  • Participate in on-going training to expand and develop professional skills
  • Perform other duties as necessary for the agency, as assigned

  • Typical hiring range: $22.00 – $26.00 per hour
  • Full salary band: $22.00 – $32.00 per hour
Level II
  • Typical hiring range: $24.00 – $28.00 per hour
  • Full salary band: $24.00 – $34.00 per hour
Level III
  • Typical hiring range: $26.00 – $31.00 per hour
  • Full salary band: $26.00 – $36.00 per hour
