A Step Ahead Counseling Center is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in a full-time remote capacity. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing client mental health status, formulating personalized therapeutic plans, and providing individuals the tools they need to address their mental health challenges. We aim to support individuals dealing with a variety of issues, including but not limited to substance abuse, depression, anxiety, and eating disorders.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of client mental health status, establishing a rapport to ensure open communication.

• Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment outcomes, ensuring approaches are evidence-based and culturally sensitive.

• Engage clients in regular therapy sessions, tailoring your therapeutic approach to best meet their unique needs.

• Provide ongoing support and resource referrals to clients, including connections to psychiatrists or other healthcare providers when necessary.

• Maintain accurate clinical documentation through our EHR systems, ensuring compliance with ethical guidelines and confidentiality requirements.

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance treatment approaches, sharing insights and contributing to case discussions.

• Utilize strong crisis intervention skills to manage emergencies and high-risk situations effectively.

• Implement culturally responsive practices in delivering both individual and group therapy sessions.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will work with a diverse client base exhibiting a range of mental health challenges. This includes individuals with substance abuse issues, depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, and eating disorders. A deep understanding of varied cultural backgrounds is essential to effectively meet the distinct needs of our clients. Qualifications\n

• A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current and valid license as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.

• A minimum of four years of relevant clinical experience in providing mental health counseling.

• A solid understanding of mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment methodologies.

• Expertise in delivering individual and group therapy using inclusive and culturally aware techniques.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The compensation range for this role is competitive, with an annual salary between USD 70,000 and USD 100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
