ISO New England is looking for a motivated accounting student ready to turn classroom knowledge into real-world experience. In this internship, you’ll work with finance professionals, strengthen your Excel and accounting skills, and contribute to meaningful budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis that supports a mission-driven organization serving millions of people across New England. If you’re a rising junior majoring in Accounting and eager to build practical finance experience, this internship is designed for you. You’ll support financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, performance reporting, reconciliations, and monthly accounting activities while learning how strong financial management supports reliable operations at a major regional organization. About the Department The Finance Department at ISO New England is responsible for safeguarding and growing the company’s assets while ensuring compliance with audit requirements, generally accepted accounting principles, and the highest ethical standards. The team establishes and maintains financial policies and procedures that keep the organization running smoothly and responsibly. What You’ll Be Working On As a Finance Intern, you’ll support the organization’s financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting activities. You may help prepare analysis, review financial information, support reporting needs, assist with reconciliations and journal entries, and contribute to month-end close processes. Your work will give you a practical look at how finance teams use data, controls, and analysis to guide smart business decisions. By supporting budgeting, reporting, forecasting, and accounting activities, you’ll help the finance team maintain disciplined financial management and provide insights that support critical business decisions. What We Look For Current enrollment in a four-year accounting program; rising junior preferred Interest in budgeting, forecasting, accounting operations, financial reporting, or business analysis Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook Strong technical aptitude and comfort learning accounting or finance applications Excellent written and verbal communication skills Curiosity, attention to detail, professionalism, and a willingness to learn Previous work experience in a professional setting preferred Social Media Post Calling all accounting students! Interns are eligible for some paid time off benefits and have access to our wellness program. Our internships also provide interns with exposure to the energy industry, mentorships, and real-world experience. This is a U.S. based role. If the successful candidate resides outside of the U.S., relocation will be required. To be eligible for an internship with ISO New England, a candidate must have completed at least the first year of college and be currently enrolled in a four year or graduate-level academic program.
